Have You Ever...

This is a post about awkwardness. Since my blog posts usually have visuals, I'm including awkward pictures I found on Pinterest.

The pictures have nothing to do with the post. They are just awesome and awkward.

Like this post.

You're welcome.

Have you ever----

Walked up to a complete stranger in a restaurant because you coulda swore it was the same guy that was the lead singer for the band that you just saw the night before???

This girl did.

And the guy....wasn't the lead singer.

Know what he was? Shocked and not very happy that I interrupted his meal to ask him if he was the lead singer of Blue Finger Disco.

A band I had never even heard of until the night before.

Oh well.

Have you ever---

waved back at someone because you thought they were totally waving at you, but in reality they were waving at the person behind you, making you feel like a total douchbag?

That was me today.

Someone at work waved. I was excited that this person was waving to me. She doesn't really like me and for some reason I thought the heaven's had parted and a true miracle was happening right in front of my eyes.

Alas, not to be.

She laughed at me because she saw me wave back.

Embarrassed much? Nah. She's a beeya and I don't sweat the small stuff.  (Ok...maybe I was a lil embarrassed. It happens, ok?)

Have you ever---

eaten something that was expired by like, five months??

I did.

Last week.

The good news? I'm still able to type this epic blog post up, so I survived. Luckily.

Have you ever---

embarrassed yourself?

Do share.

No one likes to be an awkward turtle all by themselves.

Hahaha I HATE when you can't figure out if someone is waving at you or someone else!

Hahaha love this post!! Made me laugh. I did something similar to your first point once. In college they were filming an MTV documentary at a local bar. I got the nerve (after a couple drinks) to walk up and introduce myself to Kurt Loader. I went on and on and kept calling him Kurt....then he cut me off and said "by the way I'm John Norris" Oh man I was soo embarrassed! :)

Awkward might as well be my middle name. Seriously. Everyday SOMETHING happens that's just absurd. The problem is that I think about my awkward moments all the time. They haunt me. Ugh. You can totally tell I've just remembered something awkward and/or embarrassing if I randomly cringe for no apparent reason.

lol, it happens--and I'm glad that you shared so the rest of us can feel normal too. I've totally done the wave thing and felt like an idiot. I know a ton of awkward things have happened, I just cant think of them right now...thanks for your post, tho--it was awesome :)

That waving this happens to me all the time. I just get so excited that someone is being friendly and wave back.

I love the one with the little girl picking her nose! Perfectly awkward.

My boyfriend walks up to people all the time and says "do I know you" and really he doesn't. It's very weird!

I hosted a link up not too long ago that was soley devoted to embarrassing moments. We called it Oh No! That Did Not Just Happen! You should join us next time and co-host it with us! We want to do another one in March. Cuz lets be honest. Most of us are a series of walking embarrassing moments. At least this girl is. Daily embarrassing shiz happening. It's awesome.

HAHAHA! I laugh because you are NOT alone in this! Just a few weeks ago I went be-bopping up to a guy I thought was a friend I hadn't seen in forever - nope not him at all! :)
Also, drank old milk this weekend... not once but, TWICE! It wasn't too bad the first time I guess. The second time it was definitely bad though!

Thanks for this hilariously funny, random post!

This post is awesome!!!!

I always wave back! Always! And something I can't stand is when people are on bluetooth on their phone and you totally think they are talking to you! I was in Walmart a few years ago looking at cards and this very cute guy was on the same isle. He asked if I wanted to get dinner... Only he wasn't talking to me! HAHA! But I answered him back!

I have thought so many people were other people, but they were not. I never walked up to anyone though. I'll be the one who misses out on meeting a celeb because I don't ask if that's them.

Bahaha. I've totally waved at someone thinking they were waving at me when indeed, they were not. Actually, I've done this several times...

Thank you for this hysterical post! Loved every second of it...I had to muffle my laughs in my sweater sleeve at work. I did the waving thing just the other day.

Got one for ya...have you ever walked up behind your husband's friend and caressed his back at a party because you thought it was your hubby... THIS girl did. And the friend will never let me live it down!

Oh I embarrass myself ALL the time - I've done the wrong person wave thing plenty of times. Same with thinking someone is talking to you when they're actually talking to someone else, and you answer them, and then feel totally awkward.... ALL the time!

I wore leggings to a workout class twice last week and last night when I went to put them on again I noticed that you can see right through them in the rear end area. Awesome..

the waving thing happens to me on a regular basis. and i'm CONSTANTLY saying hi to people i think i know, then realizing they're a perfect stranger. a few weeks ago i actually ran up to some guy shouting his name... wasn't who i thought it was. he just stared at me. i mean homeboy could have at least shot me a smile so i didn't feel so stupid!

I can't even count how many times I've waved at someone by mistake!

Classic on the lead singer, though. I'm pretty sure I'd have been super embarrassed! haha

I hate when I think people are waving to me and they're really not. That will always be completely embarrassing! I agree with you, don't sweat the small stuff! Haters gonna hate, and she is a beyotch for laughing at you, rude!

Have a great week!

thank you for posting this! It totally made my day! haha

The not-actually-waving-at-me thing has definitely happened to me! But you know what felt more awkward? When I was the waver who confused someone else. *I* didn't want to make *her* feel awkward, so I pretended I was saying hi to her too. :-/ I don't like making people feel awkward unintentionally. (And yes, unintentionally is the key word. I will sometimes do it intentionally... out of love, of course.)

I'm always making a tit of myself! I can't believe that woman laughed at you for waving - what is she still 6 years old?!
