| My reflection in our hotel balcony window when we were in Galveston this past weekend...update on that trip soon! |
How far along? 17 weeks!!! And I look WAY WAY WAY bigger than I really am in the picture above. In fact...I'm a little concerned that I am not showing enough. I'm also worried because I am not feeling the baby move as often as I thought I would...probably all in my head, right?! 17 weeks is still pretty early I hear to be feeling that much movement, but I guess I am in worry-mode!
Maternity clothes? A mix of maternity jeans/regular jeans and regular tops!
Stretch marks? Nope. Rubbing some Palmer's body butter on each and every night!
Sleep: Well...Let's discuss this thing called a Sciatic Nerve. What A PAIN. Literally. My right leg decides to go numb in the middle of the night quite regularly for some reason. Other than that, I sleep fairly well!
Best moment this week: Buying our crib (last week actually) and getting to pick it up this week!
Miss Anything? No! Not at all!
Movement: Some...pretty minimal...read above.
Food cravings: Salad and veggies.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of toast!
Gender: We will find out SOON! Like in 2 weeks hopefully!!
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Does peeing a lot count? LOL!
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Happy, worried, scared, happy
Looking forward to: Putting the crib together with hubby :) And getting our nursery painted.
I'm sure all the emotions and worry I am experiencing is normal...I just like to hear from other mommies and mommies-to-be out there that what I feel is normal! Plus...I'm a natural worrier...hopefully the baby does NOT inherit this trait from me :)
Happy Monday my loves!

When I was expecting my daughter I didn't feel a single thing for the longest time. At the ultra sound I still had never felt movement. The tech even warned of the craziness in my dancing baby. Sure enough, about a week later I began feeling the rib jabs, bladder tap dances & back flips. I guess she made up for the 20+ weeks of pure silence. All you are going through is TOTALLY normal. You make such a cute mommy-to-be. Congrats...I love reading the updates.
I only felt mackenzie move late in my pregnancy, IF I was quiet and still! Even though at every doctor apt I was told how much she was moving! So I had a lot of worry like you described!
Worrying is just a part of being a mom! :o)
Aww... you look precious! I've never been pregnant, so I have no tips for you, but I love reading your updates and look forward to finding out the sex! Don't be cruel and hold out on us... lol! ;)
I am a foster momma though and I am in the process of decorating the rooms for our two foster boys. Decorating is SO much fun! And I especially love it since it's one of the things I do get to do. :)
Have a fantastic day!
Delightfully,
Regina
You look great! Don't worry about the movement...it will pick up in a few weeks! 17 weeks is still early. Your doctor will measure everything to make sure you are on track...just remember everyone is different. And I don't think I started to really look pregnant until 23 or 24 weeks. So glad to hear you are feeling well!
Oh Michelle your bump is perfect! I'm so excited for you and looking forward to watching you blossom more :-)
I agree with the other posters. Try not to worry about not feeling movement much right now. I was probably 23 weeks before I really started feeling it. And I didn't start really showing until 28 weeks. ....However telling someone not to worry is easier said than done. I worried alot too while I was pregnant. Being pregnant requires a lot of faith, faith to believe that what you cannot see is developing and growing inside of you just as God planned. So keep the faith and try not to stress your self out!
Very cute baby bump! I am 15 weeks and feel huge! My pants/shorts do not fit me anymore sometimes even with my belly band.
I'm actually loving toast right now! I love that picture!
You are so adorable, girl! Can't wait to hear if it's a boy or girl soon!
I get so excited to read your baby updates!
I'm a natural worrier too. Being pregnant was a playground for my worries. That being said, it sounds like things are normal for you.
You look gorgeous and I definitely can tell you are pregnant. I mean that in the best way possible. lol As far as movement, I remember the worries there too. It really is quite early still for a huge amount of movement. I bet in a few weeks you will be talking about how your little bub won't stop moving! *hugs* to you Momma. I am praying for you!
Salad and veggie cravings?? I WISH I had those cravings ;)
You look super adorbs with your bay bay bump gooorl. Congrats on your 17 week mark!
With all 3 of my pregnancies I didn't feel movement until around 20 weeks. I don't think you have anything to worry about. You look great. Can't wait to hear what your having!!
YAYAYYYY exciting!!!
I didn't feel anything until my 18th week, way too early to worry about feeling more, I promise you will! The movement will increase so much that it will annoy you at some point I promise ;-) And not showing enough? I worried a lot about this through the 20's weeks as I wasn't gaining much weight and I didn't feel like anything was growing BUT at 37 weeks now I've obviously grown...it was just slow and steady so I couldn't notice it from one week to the next!
There's definitely a bump there :) Try not to worry too much! I'm sure baby apple is growing as he/she should be :)
Sooo I've never had a babay so I don't have all that much advice to offer like the comments above haha, HOWEVER, you are an adorable pregnant person!
I can't wait to hear more updates! And get those worries outta yo' head! :)
We were in Galveston last week! First time at beach w my kiddos. Cute photo. Had sciatic nerve problem with my boy. Babies sleep a lot when they are growing so your bump may be in a growth spurt. As long as doc says all healthy try to relax and enjoy the beautiful time.
Hi Michelle!
I've been following your blog for a couple weeks now and wanted to say congrats! :)
Don't worry about your bump being too small... I'm 31 weeks with a baby girl, but at 17 weeks I still had *nothing* to show off at all! We went for the 20-week ultrasound and our princess was measuring right on schedule! :)
Aw, congrats! Palmer's was my best friend when I was pregnant. I used to worry about my babies moving too. I think that's just natural--means you're a loving mama!
your bump is ADORABLE!
love your bump!! so beautiful! :)
You look great girl! Don't you just love how close Galveston is to Houston for a quick little getaway! Have so much fun putting together the nursery, that was definitely one of my favorite parts of getting ready for our little one!!
I've loved watching your little journey so far! The day when your bub arrives will comes sooner rather than later! XX
Would have never thought to take a picture like that, you look great!
Super cute baby bump!!!
hi baby old apple!!
I totally understand the worry! Promise! It's normal. I think it's all just part of being a parent. It's normal not to start showing until late, especially in your first pregnancy! Turn your worries over to the Lord! (Easier said than done, I know, but still...haha!) You look adorable in that picture, though!
You look great! Can't wait to hear if its a boy or girl.
How are you 17 weeks already?! You look wonderful! And yes, the worrying is natural. Over the course of motherhood that worry will evolve and manifest in different ways. But the good news is all that worry is just backed by insane amounts of love. Just hold onto that an it'll all work out!
You are SO adorable girl! I am a natural worrier too, and I am scared that I'll be over stressed when the day comes that I get pregnant and have a baby. I'm sure everything is fine with Baby Apple, you're just being a protective mama :)
Girl, again.... I was sooooo much smaller than that at 20 weeks! You are fine lady! LOOOOVE YOUUUUU. You are already such a good mama!!
I have the worry problem and the sciatic nerve problem too. :( Just wait and you'll start feeling the baby move a lot more soon, it's very reassuring (and exciting) once that happens! :)
